In what is being celebrated as another achievement for the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, Governor of Osun State, in the area of ​​public financial management, the State Procurement Agency software was used for awarding contracts for selected routes.

Without interference, the software advertised, processed bids and ultimately selected the most qualified contractor in awarding the rehabilitation of selected roads in the Federal Constituency of Osogbo/Irepodun/Orolu, placing the state on a higher pedestal. high in transparency.

Speaking shortly after witnessing the bidding and selection process, Finance Commissioner Bola Oyebamiji said Governor Adegboyega Oyetola had insisted on the introduction and use of the software because of its beliefs in public finance management and the need for transparency and credibility in awarding contracts. to get the best.

He said Governor Oyetola, from day one of his term, made it clear that he had come to serve the people of Osun through transparent and open government, hence the Governor’s decision to institutionalize transparency and accountability.

The Commissioner added that through the software, Governor Oyetola has helped the State join the States Committee using a globally accepted and proven procurement platform to conduct procurement activities to facilitate the conduct business and improve credibility and time management.

Explaining how the software selected the winner for the rehabilitation of the selected roads, the commissioner said: “Every step of the procurement process leading to the award of the contract was carried out online, including the process of evaluating the bids where all bidders logged in to a zoom. account to assist in the process.

“In the end, the system automatically cast the final winner based on certain predefined criteria that were built into the system, removing human intervention. All bidders sit in their desks and watch each of the bids being evaluated until software automatically generates a letter of award to the winner.

“This is the first time we will have something of this magnitude in Osun and it also heralds for the state the digitization of the entire procurement process in the future, something that we are so proud of as than government,” Oyebamiji said.

Also speaking, the Director General of Osun Public Procurement Agency, Mr. Bello Adegboyega, said that every contractor now knows that they have a better chance of participating in the procurement process as soon as they fits into the database, emphasizing that wasted time and paperwork are now completely eliminated.
