Fort Scott Software Business is internationally recognized

Spyder, Inc, a local software company, led by CEO Nedra Barr and Chief Technology Officer Mike Upright, was recently recognized by Data Magazine, UK as one of the “Best Startups and Service Companies in cloud data” in Kansas. “We’re thrilled to be recognized by experts who watch over our space. These experts collect data on companies and then categorize it by category, state, etc.,” said CEO Nedra Barr. “To have Spyder recognized is amazing. and showcases the hard work and effort we’ve put in over the past 15 months.

The Spyder solution uses IBM Watson and Microsoft Azure to serve the insurance and financial services industries.

Spyder has big plans to help the Fort Scott/Bourbon County community. Providing well paying jobs with great benefits is something the local community desperately needs. Spyder’s minimum annual salary is higher than the Fort Scott median salary. “Good paying jobs with benefits are helping to restore this wonderful community to the glory days of western insurance companies where good jobs were plentiful. These efforts will help the community attract a hospital group that is so important to our local community,” Barr said. “We think the city is booming. The downtown buildings look great, the small businesses are plentiful, and the pride of this community is incredible. We believe this community is ripe for a company like Spyder. It’s really exciting to be part of such an important effort for this community.

In July, Spyder will ramp up its funding round to get into growth mode.

“We’ve built and tested our base infrastructure storage product and are now ready to start improving and adding more features and larger modules to the product,” she said. “Additionally, we will be ready to launch our sales team into corporate opportunities within major insurance and financial services companies in the coming months,” Upright said. “Spyder’s products improve efficiency within these large organizations, saving them time and money. It is important for Spyder to raise this round of funding locally. We want to prevent Spyder from being funded and then removed from Fort Scott as headquarters. We build Spyder for our community to enjoy, so it’s important to us to protect the location of Fort Scott.

Spyder will host a luncheon at the end of July for interested potential investors to learn more about how Spyder will help the local community and its markets. Interested parties can contact Nedra Barr or Mike Upright to be added to the guest list. [email protected], [email protected]
